Top Five Wednesday: Books as Event Themes

It’s party season, whether that is high school prom, weddings, or summer holiday events. What books would make a good party/event theme??

Harry Potter

Yes, I know everyone and their mom put this answer. Harry Potter is good for anything. Prom, weddings, baby showers, funerals, graduation, birthdays… You could make those cupcakes with the colored icing in the middle to “sort” your guests into different houses, and then have a Tri-wizard Tournament or House Cup. Pass the butterbeer and turn to page 394!

The Great Gatsby

Ain’t no party like a Gatsby party ’cause a Gatsby party don’t stop until at least two people are dead and everyone is disillusioned with the Jazz Age as a whole…

Alice in Wonderland

There’s always time for whimsy, and Alice in Wonderland is chock full of whimsy. This would be super cute for a birthday party, (or an UN-birthday party!) with tea, bottles labeled “drink me,” and little cakes labeled “eat me.” Plus, I’ve always wanted to go to a mad tea party….

Game of Thrones

The perfect wedding theme! *Rains of Castamere plays in the distance*

A Very Hungry Caterpillar

For a baby shower, because when you’re eating for two, one can be very hungry indeed. (Or so I’ve heard.)
